Express your interest

We already have the audience. We need the strategy that runs it and the numbers that prove it.

This is an expression of interest rather than a single advertised vacancy, and the shape of the role is not yet fixed.

This is aimed at people who have built a marketing function before. If you are looking for a defined function with a playbook already written, this is not that role. If you have built one before and want to do it again, tell us what you do best and we will tell you where it fits.

The bar

What we consider essential.

Five or more years in marketing. Beyond that, these four are the ones we will not move on, and the first one is not negotiable.

Founder led and personal brand experience

You have worked closely with a founder or director as their marketing counterpart, across a group of brands, including their personal brand. This is the experience we are looking for, not a bonus on top of it. Our founder’s brand drives a large share of everything that comes through our door, so marketing here does not work without someone who has done this before.

Brand segmentation

You have segmented a brand or a group of brands and set the positioning that came out of it.

Operational and commercial judgement

You think in process and know where legal, compliance and sign off sit in a marketing decision.

Reporting that stands up

You can produce reporting on brand performance across social and other channels that a director can act on.

The work

The seven areas.

Strategy is the centre of this and everything else sits underneath it.

1. Strategy

Strategy is the centre of this and everything else sits underneath it.

  • You have set a marketing strategy of your own.
  • Multi brand strategy, where the brands share an audience and are built to feed each other.
  • Segmenting a brand or a group of brands: defining who each one is actually for, and positioning them so each stays distinct while reinforcing the others.
  • Turning a founder’s or director’s instincts into a repeatable plan that runs to a calendar.
  • You can argue a strategy properly, and then change it when the data says to.

2. Analytics and reporting

We want the strategy held to the numbers it produces, and reported plainly whatever those numbers say.

  • Reporting brand performance channel by channel, social included, so we can see which strategy is working and where.
  • Defining the metrics that actually matter for each brand.
  • Setting the measurement approach before a campaign goes live.
  • Tracking and tagging discipline: UTMs, conversion events and lead source capture set up so the reporting can be trusted.
  • Reporting to a cadence and in plain terms, with a clear recommendation attached.

3. Data

  • CRM data clean enough to segment against, and the discipline to keep it that way.
  • Segments built and maintained across a database of prospects, current clients and past clients.
  • Deciding what we capture in the first place, so the segments and the reporting are possible later.
  • Data hygiene, deduplication, list health and deliverability.

4. Targeted campaigns

  • Segment specific campaigns, built for the audience receiving them.
  • Launches, webinars, events and enrolment campaigns for an education product.
  • Lifecycle and EDM sequence design and cadence.
  • You can talk us through a specific campaign you built: who you targeted, what you measured, what it did, and what you changed as a result.

5. Social media briefs and content direction

  • Writing the brief: turning strategy into direction specific enough that production and social talent can execute it with confidence.
  • Briefing to a measurable intent, so we know what a piece of content was meant to achieve.
  • Planning a shoot so that one filming day produces weeks of usable content.
  • Giving useful, specific feedback on hooks, pacing and retention.
  • Content calendars across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, podcast and email.

6. Client outreach

  • Marketing led outreach to prospects, current clients and past clients, coordinated with the client facing teams.
  • Nurture built for a long consideration window, where the decision takes weeks or months.
  • Measuring outreach on the qualified conversations it produces.
  • Referral, testimonial and case study generation.

7. Operations, legals and sign off

Marketing here sits inside a licensed business and against real operational processes. We are looking for someone who treats that as part of the job rather than an obstacle to it.

  • An operational mindset: you think in process, owners and handovers.
  • You understand where marketing decisions need legal, compliance or director sign off, and you build that into the process.
  • Sound judgement about what a licensed business should and should not publish, particularly around results, returns and testimonials.
  • Hands on with a marketing automation platform. Such as GHL and Mailchimp, or a close equivalent such as HubSpot, ActiveCampaign or Klaviyo.
  • WordPress, Meta Business Suite and scheduling tools at a practical working level.
Also relevant

What will put you ahead.

  • 01 You come from high ticket education, coaching, fitness, finance or property. Categories where trust and personality drive the sale.
  • 02 You have inherited messy data or unreliable reporting and fixed it.
  • 03 Community and audience building: cohorts, memberships, events or podcast.
  • 04 Exposure to partnerships and to the events side of marketing. Useful, not required.
  • 05 Working knowledge of the Australian property investment landscape.
